My husband and I just returned from two weeks of traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday. We flew from San Diego to Louisville, Kentucky to visit with my parents in Indiana, grandparents (99 and 98 years old and still doing pretty well!), friends, and other family. We then spent three days in Louisville proper seeing friends and eating such fantastic food. For those of you that may have never been to Louisville, it's a seriously wonderful place to visit and to live. It's a big city (over 1 million people in the county) with a small town feel. The restaurants are incredible and rival those of major metropolitan areas.
We then spent seven days in a small town called Fletcher which is a suburb of Asheville, North Carolina with my husband's parents. His brother and family and his sister and family drove in from Easley, SC and Atlanta to spend Thanksgiving. We had turducken, a Cajun favorite which is turkey, duck and chicken all comprised together and looks like a regular Thanksgiving turkey.
I'm very glad to have spent time with family and especially my husband to spend time with his family. His brother and sister both have small children and his brother's wife just announced a new pregnancy. We have been trying to get pregnant with the help of fertility treatments.
Our marriage has been pretty rocky as we live in San Diego and he has very few physical visiting time with his family. He is unable to see how a marriage should work, with the husband helping much more than my husband currently is. This includes showing affection and doing little things around the house.
We're in the first few days of returning from our trip and he's been more attentive and sweet.
Let's hope it lasts!
